Jamie Billotte Moses: National Women's History Month Spotlight
Now, more than ever, we need to come together in support of each other. So, in honor of National Women's History Month, we're highlighting female Trail Blazers who pour into their communities like none other. Today, Jamie Billotte Moses instantly comes to mind!
Jamie is an Orlando litigation and appellate attorney at Holland & Knight, LLP. An extraordinary advocate, Jamie champions her clients’ causes in the state and federal courts of appeal and in the trial courtroom litigating professional malpractice, real estate and broker, insurance and bad faith actions. Decorated with a multitude of awards and honors too lengthy to list here, Jamie was named a Florida Trend Legal Elite in 2006, 2009, 2011, 2013 and 2015-19 and Florida Super Lawyer in 2015-19, including as one of 2018’s Top 100 Florida Lawyers and Top 50 Florida Women Lawyers. She is the current President of the Central Florida Association for Women Lawyers and a past President of the Orange County Bar Association (“OCBA”), OCBA Young Lawyers Section, OCBA Legal Aid Society, and The Florida Bar Young Lawyers Division.
While Jamie has distinguished herself as a lawyer, she is being highlighted because of who she is to her community - an inexhaustible cheerleader for all those around her who constantly exemplifies how to tirelessly give of yourself to make the world a brighter place. In just the past month, Jamie argued on behalf of the Guardian ad Litem’s Defending Best Interests Project to the 3rd District Court of Appeal, placed first in her age group at the OCBA Law Day 5K benefitting free civil legal aid programs, helped a Girl Scout Troop beat its cookie sales goal, and campaigned for female leadership in Florida’s judiciary and legal profession. She is well-known for the countless pro bono hours she logs representing low-income litigants who otherwise would not have legal representation (and for which she won the 2015 Florida Bar Pro Bono Service Award on behalf of the Appellate Section) and numerous mentorships she undertakes to empower and uplift others, including Spread Your Sunshine’s Founder, Melanie Griffin.
Jamie also uses her social media platforms to advocate for others and dispense fun, inspirational advice. Just today, she brightened everyone’s timeline by sharing how she is celebrating St. Patrick’s Day while working from home, making an otherwise difficult day cheerful and bringing a smile to our faces.
For all of these reasons and so many more, we couldn’t let Women’s History Month or St. Patrick’s Day pass without inspiring the Spread Your Sunshine community by sharing Jamie’s story. Keep shining brightly, Jamie, you’re truly amazing!!
